300 Words: Kyle Hubbard
Junior Kyle Hubbard always knew music was special to him, especially if it involved God. Now he seems to be making new beats from the sound of his heart.
“I’ve been surrounded with music my whole life,” Hubbard said. “And one day my church hired a guy to come down and rap for us. He was rapping and he called me onstage and he was like ‘Hey, we’ll do a freestyle battle and you can just go with it’ so he went, then I went and I was like ‘All right, this is pretty sweet’. From there I just kind of prayed about it and I really felt that God was telling me ‘Hey, I really think this is what I want you to do with your life’.”
Although he hasn’t received any major publicity yet, Hubbard plans to accompany a friend who will tour this summer. As for new material, he already completed two songs and intends to finish two more in the next few weeks before releasing them for public viewing.
“Right now I’m producing with Adorio Records,” Hubbard said. “Once I finish my five songs, we’re going to release that on iTunes for people to buy them.”
With intentions to release eight complete songs on his first CD, Hubbard said that music encourages his ambition to stay on the right path God wants him to be.
“My goal is pretty much my vision of what I want to do with it,” Hubbard said. “I feel like my music would reach out more to people that have grown up in Church to kind of spark a fire inside them. I pretty much want to be able to inspire and show God’s word but also encourage people that have known it to actually start living what they’re talking about.”
