Mrs. Vann is the new Intro Into Culinary teacher, and formed a passion for teaching the culinary arts to students who need to develop those skills.

“It’s actually a survival skill and everybody should know how to provide for themselves, or cook for themselves,” Mrs. Vann said. “I became passionate about it, honestly, after I got in the classroom, seeing how many kids don’t know how to cook.” 

Mrs. Vann hopes to get more students into advanced culinary, and show them that “they can make a life out of being in culinary”.

“It was like the best feeling in the world, like seeing the students understand finally, and then go home and show their families,” Mrs. Vann said.

Mrs. Vann has already received praise from her students in the program as well. Sophomore Daryen Balas praised Mrs. Vann’s enthusiasm. 

“Mrs. Vann always has a great attitude and doesn’t fail to make you laugh when you’re having a bad day,” Daryen said.
