Apple announced their new iPhone 8 and the iPhone X, on September 12.  The release of the iPhone 8 and 8S occurred on Friday, September 22, and many ordered theirs immediately.  Pre-orders of the iPhone X begin on October 27, and then release November 3.

This year marks 10 years of Apple creating iPhones, but mixed feelings surface for many consumers and news of the new iPhone releases.  Numerous people await the day their new iPhone arrives on their doorstep, but some wonder when Apple’s newest product actually becomes their last.  Consumers see no end to the line of iPhones.

“When Apple announced their new iPhone I was very excited,”  sophomore Zach Levesque said. He adds that although he anticipates the release, “The iPhone 8 and 8S aren’t much different from the iPhone 7.”

While, Levesque feels excited about the release of the iPhone X, others still look skeptically upon the necessity of this new smartphone.

“They’re too expensive. I can’t afford one, and they aren’t even more advanced. They have almost the same amount of technology,” sophomore Aliyah Smith said.

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8S boast new features like wireless charging and glass back covers.  The new iPhones include many new additions, but the iPhone X consumes conversations everywhere.  The iPhone X received many high reviews and ratings.  Some of the brand new features include edge to edge screen coverage, a screen that lights up twice as bright, and Face  ID.

“If anyone is going to buy a new iPhone, the iPhone X is the one to buy because there are so many more new features in the X than in the 8 or 8S,”  Levesque said.
