Decatur Football made its comeback this season in full swing with a 7-3 record. However, with the end of the regular season and multiple back-to-back wins under the Friday night lights, one is left to wonder how the playoffs will play out.

“I feel like we have a chance to go all the way, we have something special brewing up for the team, and as long as we keep our mind on the main thing we should be good,” junior running back Nate Palmer said.

“Everyone is always excited for a good football game,” left defensive end Ethan Tally said. “We just focus on this week’s game, and don’t get too ahead of ourselves.”

Although the team is on a 7-game winning streak, they originally started 0-3, many may wonder where this team’s sudden success came from, but the football players knew it was Coach Huff and his effect on the team.

“I wouldn’t want any other head coach. The way he critiques our details and holds us accountable to our assignments throughout every game helps us stay consistent,” Palmer said.

“The hard work of the team, everyone has a paddle going the same direction,” Tally said, pointing to success through a system that functioned like a well-oiled machine.

The playoffs will begin Friday, Nov. 11th. The team will be playing away against Pampa in Vernon.
