A Look Back on the LEVB 2022 Season
Strong plays and teamwork seen from the Lady Eagles
January 18, 2023
The Lady Eagles had an amazing 2022 season. They tried their best to live up to last year’s accomplishments and made it into the playoffs, but sadly it had to come to an end.
The Lady Eagles started the season strong, winning every game in district. As they made their way to the playoffs, it got more difficult than expected.
The last volleyball game, held in Lubbock, Texas, was played against the Randall Raiders. They won one set and Randall won three sets. For the overall year, they won 27 sets and lost 19.
“My favorite memory from this season was beating Glen Rose because nobody thought we could beat them and they were one of our biggest competitions in the playoffs and one of our best games,” sophomore Averi Walsh said.
“To be better next year, we will work harder throughout the season, getting stronger and getting more reps, also starting off stronger and being more engaged in the games at the start of the season, that’s kinda where we fell short at the end last year,” Walsh said.
The ladies would all like to better themselves for next season so they can get to state and win that title. The Decatur students can’t wait to cheer them on next season.
Altogether, the Lady Eagles had an astonishing 2022 season. They had so much fun and hope to have an even better season in 2023.
