Jamila Tapia (10) – Reporter

My name is Jamila Tapia. I’m in 10th grade, and this year for The Journal Online I’ll be a reporter. A few things about me is that I’ve lived in Decatur my whole life. I’m also in the big blue marching band. I play the flute and I’ve been playing for the past 4 years. I joined the newspaper this year because of what I’ve seen from The Journal Online. It looks like an interesting class to be a part of. I wasn’t really a big fan of reading when I was young but as the years passed I read more and fell more in love with reading and the possibility that I may start writing one day too. I would love to report about sports and all types of things happening in and around the school.
