Hey y’all! My name is Taryn Holmes and this is my fourth year at Decatur High School and my third year writing for The Journal. Besides being the Editor-in-Chief for the newspaper staff, I participate in FFA, the annual musicals, NHS, UIL and varsity tennis. Outside of school, my activities include playing the violin, babysitting, reading, writing, archery and horseback riding. At home I live with my parents, four younger siblings, two dogs, two cats and three goats. My favorite things include God, the color green, and giraffes. I aspire to attend Texas A&M and become a professional author, but for now I’m content to write as a journalist. I’m excited for the chance to make a difference through my writing and hope to change the world. Have a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious day!
