Chef Goodmay is the advanced culinary teacher and has been teaching at Decatur High School for four years.
Goodmay said he wanted to join culinary because of “the ever-changing, ever-evolving world of food. And everybody’s got to eat.”
Goodmay praised the importance of learning culinary, and sharing his knowledge with his students.
“[It is] the life skill that everybody should have,” Goodmay said. “It’s unfair to have a skill set and not pass it on to somebody else.”
Goodmay hoped that, in the future, the culinary department can be more advanced and have more students interested. He also hopes to get a bigger kitchen and a more open area for the students to be able to work better.
“I would also like an outside kitchen,” Goodmay said. “That would be pretty cool.”
